Rapper puts bling in dancers' step

smh.com.au: "What do you get when you cross hip-hop music with ballet? No rappers in tights, thankfully, but almost anything else goes in a world premiere collaboration between the Atlanta Ballet and hip-hop star Big Boi from OutKast."

  1. I love cross-over genres. It's the whole familiar to strange process that spices up the elements we already know. I know there were productions that features B-Boys and Ballerinas that have been contracted and planned to play in Canada.

The photo in the article makes me worry that Big Boi just travels around and raps while the dancers do all the crossing over. I doubt this is the case though, Outkast always does quality work, and I doubt Big Boi would let something like that fly.

I like how ballet is getting off its high horse and evolving like other dance styles. It makes for more interesting art.
