Soap actress to star in Public's 'Jackie and Marilyn'
Post Gazette: "Soap star Heather Tom ('One Life to Live') will play Marilyn Monroe in the world premiere of 'The Secret Letters of Jackie and Marilyn' at the Pittsburgh Public Theater, Nov. 9-Dec. 10."
I wonder how the soap star and the tony award winning actor will get along....seems like they will have two entirely different acting styles. Film and theater acting seem to be opposites; in film, they down play the emotions and facial gestures, and in theater they upgrade everything so that it is visible and readable. Although, soap operas seems to extremly over dramatic, so we'll see what the review says. My guess is that the soap star will not be as readable as the veterans of the stage...and this could make for a dull performance.
