Milwaukee M18 Fuel Jig Saw 2737-21 Review

Pro Tool Reviews: We’ve been making a lot of sawdust as we review the latest generation of jig saws from the big names. These saws differentiate themselves by more than just a battery platform. Today, it’s the new Milwaukee M18 Fuel Jig Saw’s turn to show us its stuff. Let’s see what it has to offer.

I have always been a big fan of jig saws and Milwaukee’s M18 fuel line so for me this was an interesting read into a platform that I personally have invested in. But that being said I wonder exactly where these kind of tools are in terms of their power and their capabilities. Like I said early I love a good jig saw it was one of the first tools I learned how to use and probably the first that I can say “mastered” to an extent but having used the likes of Hiliti and Bosh I have never been able to use or experience a cordless version. But that being said at the same time I have never had a need for a cordless version. I think in todays tool ecosystem and in shops like our own in particular the jig saw is getting left on the shelf more often then not because it isn’t needed as much with tools such as the CNC router and a saw zall covering the range of what really a jig saw can do. I think for contractors its essential to have cordless tools push corded for performance but for me and there uses we see it everyday I think its just another nice luxury to have.

In the last few years, Milwaukee has really stepped up their game when it comes to their power tools. In 2012, Milwaukee introduced their new product lines, the M12 and M18 Fuel systems. This took the Milwaukee power tools we were used to and took them to the next level. Milwaukee began to innovate more than any other company. They made their tools lighter, smaller and more ergonomic while making them powerful, well made, and nice to use. From there, Milwaukee began to release new and innovative tools, helping a lot of industries like the electrical and plumbing industries which hadn't gotten too much attention in the consumer market. The new M18 Fuel Jig Saw is just another tool Milwaukee has come up with. With Milwaukee's powerful and quiet brushless motors that they put in all their M18 Fuel tools, I am convinced this tool is powerful enough for most jobs you would throw at it.

I have always been a fan of Milwaukee tools as a sort of mid-range tool brand. Jigsaws are also one of my favorite tools because of their versatility and compactness. Pro tool reviews are one of my favorite tool review websites because they are not sponsored and they give a brief but comprehensive enough review of the tool. This new jigsaw seems to tackle the age-old problem of dust collection and I am sure that it does an okay job but I just do not see any jigsaw being able to be completely dust free. The article mentions the weight of the tool as being a little heavy but I see that as a pro aspect of the tool. I have always liked a heavy jigsaw because it seems to offer more control. Finally, I appreciate the article comparing the Milwaukee jigsaw to other competitors tools so it helps the consumer compare brands in a convenient location.
