Las Vegas chapel by Joshua Vides features line-drawn details

www.dezeen.com: Graphic designer and visual artist Joshua Vides has created a chapel in a Las Vegas hotel, for couples to tie the knot in an "Instagram-worthy" setting.

Vides' 800-square-foot (74.3-square-metre) installation is erected at the Palms Casino Resort. From 18 January 2019, it will be available to hire for wedding ceremonies, vow renewals and accompanying photos.

The cartoonish but witty design of Joshua Vides’s chapel design in Las Vegas emphasizes the impact of social media in our culture. Not only are the details original and appealing, but they are incredibly photogenic. The thick, bold lines and block structures are eye-catching, especially when contrasted with human beings before it. This location resembles the Museum of Ice Cream pop-up that has been appearing across the nation and throughout social media. This exhibit hardly constitutes as a historically informative experience. Rather, it is used as a colorful backdrop to the hundreds of individuals who wanted a good photo-op. And once a social media influencer livens up their account with these images, the public wants to as well. This form of “free advertising” is crucial to the success of the business, which is not set in a permanent location. When the Museum of Ice Cream came to Miami beach, many of my friends chose a trendy outfit and sped down south. However, I was slightly underwhelmed upon arrival at the lack of insightful and interesting information I was planning on learning.
