“Hershey Felder as Irving Berlin” at the Pittsburgh Public Theater

The Pittsburgh Tatler: There probably isn’t a soul in America who could not sing along to at least one song written by the extraordinarily prolific Irving Berlin. He was – as readers of this blog must already know – the immigrant who wrote “God Bless America”; the Jew who composed “White Christmas”; the cantor’s son who paid homage to his era’s popular music in “Alexander’s Ragtime Band.” He also wrote the lyrics and music to another twelve hundred or so other songs during a life that lasted over a century.
