Packing for me is always extremely hard. I am one of those people who needs 6 different options for a 2-day trip. I will always always always over pack. One of the hardest things for me to pack is just the essentials. I have the kind of thinking of rather have it and not need it than not have it and need. I am not attending USITT but if I did, I already know packing would be hell. The list provide is extremely helpful to determine the essentials. What I think is missing from this list is the type of clothing to wear. Is this a business casual kind of thing or is a t-shirt and shorts ok? I also overthink things so that is another problem. One of the best things on this list is the portable charger. You do not want your phone to die right before getting the phone number of someone important. If I ever do end up attending USITT, lists like this will defiantly help.

Although this article was fun, kind of a good catch-all reminder, I hoped it would go more in depth about conference preparation. Packing is a critical part of preparing for a conference, determining what you will have with you, but there is a lot more to be explored. Especially for women's attire there are many options when it comes to dressing business casual. For some, a pant suit with flats works perfectly fine throughout the day, and is relatively easy to walk long distances in. However, others are more comfortable in dress or skirt suit and heels. That little difference can affect your entire day. Suddenly you have to pack an additional set of shoes, sometimes clothing and accessories/makeup/hair/etc. It stresses me out just thinking about that. Although this is not a big deal, it is something many people deal with. I'd love to see another article, similar to this one that not only acts as a packing reminder but suggests strategies for minimizing your daily tote bag while also allowing you to wear what makes you feel best.

Yay, thoughts of USITT 2018 beginning to form. This article is an excellent quick little list of things to remember for USITT 2018. Unlike previous years for the more recent attendees, it’s important to remember that this year it will not be anywhere near the Arctic tundra as it has been in past years. Starter points were brought up of needing resumes and business cards general things to help one build their network within the entertainment community. This is what I see is one of the significant purposes of USITT, is a large gathering of peers and other people that are interested in the industry. I was hoping for something a little bit deeper in this article; I'm not quite sure what it was. However, at times it felt as though it was in the middle of a Teen Vogue magazine wondering what is different than any other standard packing list.
