I am so happy to see these two shows getting nominated for so many awards. Both of these shows have a lot of significance to me, so it's amazing to see them doing so well. Sweeney Todd has always been one of my favorite shows. It was one of the first musicals I was exposed to when I was first growing my interest in theatre. This production is so unique in its immersive quality. I'm always happy to see a classic like this getting revamped and energized time and time again in such unique and interesting ways. I have also been in love with Hadestown for years since Anais Mitchell released the original concept album. I'm a huge fan of Greek mythology and the folk music sound, and this modern adaptation encorporates both elegantly. I wish I had the opportunity to see the live production, but from the photos and reviews I think I would've enjoyed it. I love the way the show was cast. It boasts a beatiful diverse cast which takes this ancient myth and makes it completely contemporary and relevant. I hope to see new productions of Hadestown in the future, and that they too are met with great success.
