I've seen a couple videos and articles on this "cube," and from an automation and scenic standpoint alone, it's an amazingly cool and creative piece. Add in lighting, media and sound, and it's easily concert wise, one of the coolest and most collaborative concert pieces I've ever seen. For me, TAIT, is one of the most innovative companies working in the entertainment industry today, just from a technology standpoint alone. From what I've seen them produce, their work is incredibly new and innovative--working with ideas from the artist and creative team, they're able to produce work that is both effective, beautiful, and above all functional. I have to wonder what this, and many of their projects cost--all of the gear on this project had to range in the millions, if not more. Despite that, I'm sure it will be worth it considering the production value of the shows as a result of this piece.

This is insanely cool! I really appreciate the amount of technology being used in the music entertainment industry to create a show for a lot of these concerts these days. It was interesting to see that each LED panel was automated and moved. At first i did not like it because they can simulate the movement with solid panels but it achieves something better. It expands the space of the cube and creates a movement that almost feels alive in the cube. I can not begin to fathom the amount of coding and going back to the drawing board that is needed to make something like this come together. I am curious to know how long it took heir team of people to design and build a piece like this. Im excited to see more stuff like this used in music shows. I feel it really is an open place to experiment with new technologies and ideas.

I've been trying to follow the development of this amazing concert piece/dj stand and I am just continually amazed by the quality of work that comes out of Tait. So much so that it intimidates me, and makes me ask myself how I can compete with these incredible people. I then tel myself that the only way I can compete is by bettering myself, and trying to gather as many skills and learn as much as possible in my time here. I am also really impressed at the quality of a project where the designer/customer is also very tech knowledgeable. You can see just how smoothly this project went, and how integrated all elements were. Deadmau5 makes his own animations as well, so for him, knowing the exact surfaces he wanted is vital as the whole thing helped him with the finished look we see at the end.
