A brief history of Disney's and Universal's theme park design divisions

www.themeparkinsider.com: Universal last week promoted Universal Creative President Mark Woodbury to the newly created post of Vice Chairman of Universal Parks & Resorts. Woodbury will continue to head Universal Creative and continue to report directly to Universal Parks & Resorts Chairman Tom Williams, so maybe it's not so much a substantial change as a symbolic one.

For me the most interesting part of this article was not the part that talked about the actual history, but rather the comments from others. I've pretty much thought that I'd like to work in commercial entertainment ($$$) for quite awhile. For-profit theatre is pretty much my biggest interest. There is a lot to do and a lot to navigate. But one thing that I always forget is that there is also like the corporate greed latter (which I fully support) but recognize that it can be really annoying as well. One thing that I'm not necessarily looking forward to when I start my professional career is dealing with an idea of people getting fired so they don't get promoted or that acting promotional can get you fired. If I'm working, I'm working hard. So there isn't any way I'm going to be just chilling and not on top of my game. Which makes me wonder if commercial is right for me... but then I go back to how much I like money.
