Masque Sound On Cirque Du Soleil’s Paramour

www.cirquefascination.com: When Cirque du Soleil Paramour, the organization’s first show created expressly for Broadway, took flight at the Lyric Theatre on May 25, Sound Designer John Shiver and Associate Sound Designer David Patridge were putting the finishing touches on a custom audio equipment package provided by Masque Sound for Cirque du Soleil’s first musical.

Wow, how exciting! As a big cirque fan, I'm always thrilled to see articles on the technical progressions the new show is making. It's rather funny that I came across this article at this moment as I was JUST listening to the Paramour soundtrack while I was browsing the site. Paramour features some absolutely beautiful music, so of course how this score is transported into a live space is so incredibly important! There are so many instruments and crucial beats that move songs along, so I'm pleased to hear that they will be using a live orchestra! It really immerses you in the experience, which is what good theatre should do! I was in sound class earlier today, and we recently unwrapped a DiGiCo so It's interesting to work with something similar to what they have on set.
