Not having a huge amount of experience losing jobs I can't speak completely to this, but I definitely am currently in the process of network-building and hunting for the next opportunity. These items all seem like obvious things that we need to do yet somehow forget to do them. Some of this doesn't necessarily apply to a lot of people within theater, I personally am at a skill and experience level where If i'm not working in an educational theater I am exclusively doing freelance work, so it is all "Interim work." I am curious if there are any thoughts on how to continue to keep your name around, particularly if you have been out of the game for awhile. any advice from people with more experience than I would be appreciated.

I think this article is especially relevant to those of us in the theater industry. In the theater, your network of references is everything. Making sure your references know you've lost your job is super important and something I definitely didn't think about, not that I've ever had a job let alone lost one before. It's also interesting to think about how important it is to have a professional email to send messages to people from. I'd never though about it really, but I guess I inherently know not to send an email to a teacher from my weird 5th grade gmail account. I never know the importance of a linkedin account either, but I guess it's a useful way to learn more about an applicant you're considering to hire. Also I'm not sure how much sense it makes to find an interim part time job while job hunting. Obviously you need to make money to support yourself, but how do you search for two jobs simultaneously?
