I love reading about other programs that offer similar style training in different areas of Entertainment. As entertainment moves into a more digital and technological age I think it is important to receive training in the specific areas. As the industry grows and changes it is important to have programs that are updating alongside. What I have issue with is the skipping over the basics. Because the technological part of what these film students do is so large I wonder how much time is devoted to the fundamentals/basics of what film is. Storytelling, history, etc.
What is really cool about these programs is that they are all so different. The film industry is so specific due to the specificity of film projects. Unlike the top theatre conservatories like UNCSA, BU, CCM, CMU, etc. that all have similar curriculums all of these programs are different with similar but more specific curriculums to each of their programs.
I am interested in learning more about the locations of each of these programs and wonder how the vicinity to Los Angeles affects the success of students after graduation.
Overall, I am excited to read about successful UNDERGRAD(!!) programs excelling in the arts and technologies. It is cool to see other schools integrating the two so heavily.
