Who's raising the bar(re) in Pittsburgh dance in 2016

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: Paging through a recent issue of Dance Magazine, Dance Spirit or some other national performing arts publication, you’ll likely come across more than one mention of Pittsburgh connection.

The city has become a hotbed for dance in recent years, both as a producer of homegrown talent and as a presenter of performers and choreographers from around the world.

This was a very informative article. As someone who likes going to see dance, I will definitely consult this list of upcoming performances. I haven’t been to nearly enough dance since I moved to Pittsburgh. The one show I have seen here was a mixed rep performance at the Benedum by the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, which is a wonderful company. The quality was outstanding. I had to opportunity to talk with some of the designers and managers, and it is clear their production talent is top-notch as well. I’m excited to see some performances by some other companies. I also had no idea that Dance Moms is filmed in Pittsburgh. I’m not quite sure how to feel about that. Anyways, it’s great the Pittsburgh has become such a hub of dance. I look forward to seeing future productions by some of these companies.
