We got to check out the Mascot Workwear Frankfurt Pilot Jacket and Mascot Springfield Pants, but the brand covers everything from safety gear to outfits in just about any color imaginable.

Holy Pockets, Batman! These pants are exactly what I want in my life. Women’s pants never seem to have enough - or functional – pockets, and wearing jeans doesn’t always cut it when caught in the rain during a load in or when scrubbing floors for Shakespeare in the park etc. etc. These pants are pretty good looking and as always with these ProTool reviews, they pass with flying colors due to adaptability and functionality. The jacket is also a point of interest – it seems to be a matching set with the pants – and has just as many pockets! I love the cell phone breast pocket – last year I purchased a new peacoat and tragically overlooked the lack of this essential pocket – it’s just too convenient not to have. I also love the general protective qualities of these clothing items – wind and cold protection is pretty relevant in Pittsburgh – and I think they would be a great investment.

These pants are the epitome of a lack of fashion. My inner costume designer is screaming at how ugly they are, BUT THEY’RE SO EFFICENT! I need a pair of pants like this in my life. Whoever was the ass hat who decided that women’s pants shouldn’t have deep pockets deserves to rot in the depths of hell. I like to have my knives, keys, wallet, headphones, phone, and other random crap in my pockets, BUT I CANT DO THAT THANKS TO THE STUPID FASHION DESIGNER WHO MADE IT POPULAR TO HAVE NO POCKETS. As you can tell, I am very angry by this ten year trend. I actually make new pockets for all the jeans I buy so that I can fit all that crap in them, and not have everything fall out. Do you know how useful it is to be able to carry two types of knives on me at once? It’s incredibly practical! I need pants that allow me to do that without alteration.

For the past 6 years or so, when I have bought new clothing I have had to decide what its purpose will be. If I know that I am going to be using a pair of jeans for work and getting glue and/or paint on them – I go cheap. As long as they won’t fall apart while I’m wearing them or in the wash, I go for it. While the people who buy this type of clothing are most likely using them for work, I’m not sure the price justifies the functionality. Now that I think about it - $80 for pants may not be as ridiculous as it seems to me (who buys work pants at Costco). This is something that I would ask my parents for, but I wouldn’t buy for myself, at least not as a broke grad student. Typically, I’m more concerned about jackets than pants. While I usually try to buy the best that I can justify spending money on, clothing doesn’t really fall into that category. Mostly – as long as it works, I’m satisfied. It is a lot easier to justify buying new clothes because you’re too cold (or hot) than justifying other purchases. Maybe I’ll add these to my wish list…right after a new iPhone.
