A Glimpse Inside The Secretive World Of Human Cannonballs

io9.com: Once she has lowered herself into the mouth of the cannon and slid down to the base of the barrel, Gemma “The Jet” Kirby performs a series of breath-synchronized movements that seem more suited to yoga or lamaze than to one of the deadliest stunts in circus history. This sequence is the culmination of hours of preparation, the final item on a human cannonball’s pre-flight checklist.

Wow that is crazy! I cannot imagine how scary it is to be shot out of a cannon at 60 miles per hour. It takes a lot of guts to want to be shot out of a cannon many times especially in front of an audience. It is crazy how secretive the process of human cannonballs is. I understand keeping the inner workings of the cannon a secret from the general public and the audience because they want to amaze them. I do not get why cannonballs do not share how they make their cannons with other cannonballs. If they all worked together on their cannons, I am sure that they would be able to figure out the best way to make and shoot someone out of a cannon. There could be really great aspects of different cannons and they would not even know because they do not share. I would never want to be shot out of a cannon.
