So individually, I applaud all these people for the work and money that they have donated to these various causes. The fact that they all have a personal connection of some sort, whether it be positive childhood memories or surviving a related assault, they have each chosen something that they have an actual interest in and aren’t just doing the celebrity “throw money at everything for the publicity” thing. The one issue I take with this article however is that Kim Kardashian is included to bring in a younger audience, or possibly help her horrible PR. She does not belong on the same level as Whoopi Goldberg and Glen Close. At all. A benefactor needs to have as positive a public life as they do a private life. The sexualized, drunk decisions and publicity that Kardashian has been promoting direct only negative attention to the Organization she represents. It’s hurting them, more than helping them, and this one good decision she’s made does by no means clear her in my eyes.
