'Bayadere' closes Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre season in great fashion

TribLIVE: Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre concluded its 45th season with a spectacular production of “La Bayadere,” a 19th-century Russian ballet with the potential to showcase all the aspects of a major ballet company.

“La Bayadere” was created in 1876-77 by Marius Petipa, chief choreographer at the Russian Imperial Ballet and sometimes called the father of classical ballet.

I started to read this article and thought it was going to be about a ballet that incorporates a fashion show. And yes the costumes looked amazing, but it wasn't what I expected. However, I got to thinking... What if the ballet was a fashion show. What if instead of a runway, the clothes are putting on a performance?I mean isn't runaway to show the movement of the clothes? Well a production should have action if there are live characters involved, so this would be a very interesting experience for an audience member. It would be entertaining and it would show the audience how flexible and wardrobe the clothing would be. I would also like th be a part of a process like this. Alas, this article wasn't exactly what I was wanting to read, but it's good to know that the ballet is successful and there costumes are magnificent.
