Re-Animator: The Musical Returns in Time for Halloween

Daily Dead: It has just been announced that Re-Animator: The Musical will return for new performances in Hollywood this October with new performers and brand new songs:

““Re-Animator ™ the Musical” tells the story of Herbert West, a brilliant young medical student who has created a glowing green serum that can bring the dead back to life. What should be a medical breakthrough results in hideous monstrosities and ghastly consequences.

This reminds me a lot of Repo: The Genetic Opera. It is one of those ghoul shows that have cult followings. I can easily imagine this show having a cult following, no matter who the actors are. Even as this shows grows older, it will forever have fans somewhere because of the following it has gained. I have to wonder if the new songs will go over well for them. Some people are purists and want to see the show as it originally was (or how they had first seen it). They need to keep an open mind because this might turn out to be something fabulous. Or it could fail horribly. It'd be really cool if it didn't only play during Halloween time. It seems like a pretty good show. That's like saying that Sweeney Todd and Little Shop of Horrors should only play during Halloween too because of the blood and gore. I mean, Rocky Horror Picture Show is enjoyed by everyone all around the year. If it does well this year, they should give it a longer run somewhere else, so that more people can enjoy it.
