It is always encouraging to see things like this. Even just a few weeks into the semester, I find myself getting so caught up in my projects and the balancing act that is day-to-day life that I forget where I am, and where I could go. Looking at the "big picture" is looking at this week in my planner, maybe glancing at the first three days of the next week. But hearing about these successes is a reminder of the calibre of university I go to, and what me and my peers might one day be capable of. Managing this week's work is important, but looking further down the road is just as critical.

I think it's amazing to hear someone from CMU winning for Art Direction. A lot of the times the actors in the industry are put, quite literally, in the spotlight. But any time we can appreciate the amazing creative work other majors do, i think its great.

I am very proud to say that i go to a should where people of this talent have gone in the past. Chikako Suzuki's talent is undeniable. In my opinion the more technical awards should be presented on the telavised Emmy show. Giving these awards a show that is not seen by the general public down grades the importance of these talents. While i do think it is amazing that an alum won such an amazing award, i am saddened by the award process.

It's often too easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of school and look over the core reasons that we are all here. Reading articles like this brings me back to the ground and reminds me not only of my ultimate goal, but also of the extent of things that CMU students are potentially able to achieve. I'm so honored to be a part of a community that is so active in pursuing their dreams. The simple statement that "fourteen Carnegie Mellon alumni were nominated for 2014 Emmy Awards in 13 categories" was so mind blowing. This also reminds me that it is important to be aware of the world around you and not so caught up in your own affairs. Not only do we each individually want to accomplish our dreams, its often mind boggling to watch the amazing successes of our faculty, peers, friends, and other members of our community.

I agree with all of these comments. Sometimes we can get so caught up in school that we don't step back and look at the bigger picture in front of us. I feel that Carnegie Mellon is an amazing second home for creative students that are wanting to show the world what they can do. It's so nice to be surrounded by people who have a love for the arts and believe that some day they could do the same. I hope we hear about more nominations and award winners of CMU alumni! Keep it up!

It is great to hear about all the success Carnegie Mellon students from the School of Drama have had. It reminds me how lucky I am, to be at such a great institution. There are so many talented people in this school and even more who have already graduated. The teachers at CMU are all very successful and resourceful. They are able to help students become the best artists they can be and deal with real world experiences. Students are very prepared coming out of CMU.
