A 5-Minute Hack to Finding Your Life's Work

Live Your Legend: While in theory no one knows you better than you, oftentimes we get so deep in our own head, thoughts and fears that we subconsciously blind ourselves from seeing the obvious.

So instead of putting all the pressure on yourself, ask the people who know you best. Because sometimes the honest perspective of an outsider is all we need to finally see the light that’s been shining the whole time.

I find this article kind of cheesy and like something commonly found in magazines targeted at house-wives. While it may be helpful for people who aren't sure of their passions, it seems to be trivial process. I believe that in order to find your passions, asking around isn't enough. There needs to be physical effort in trying new things, whether it be going to new stores to look around or something dramatic like skydiving. Simply sending an email asking for feedback isn't enough.

I can definitely see where Kim is coming from, about the cheesiness of the article -- It sounds like something one might find in a stereotypical self-help book. All that aside, while the article brings up a few good points, I don't think that you can necessarily rely on others to decide what to do with your life. Granted, it's always helpful to get input from people who know you well and whose opinions you value, and those views can often be integral in the resulting decision, but in the end you know yourself best. Everyone else has a limited view of you that is skewed by themselves and they only see what you show.
