'Bears': (Very Remote) Location Production for Disneynature's New Doc

c2meworld.com: Dazzling animation is typically the first thing that comes to mind on seeing the Disney brand, yet Walt Disney was also a pioneer in capturing wildlife in the real world—and had a whopping eight Oscars to prove it more than half a century ago. Bears, his namesake studio’s newest wildlife production, is the fifth theatrical release from Disneynature, a Disney niche brand established six years ago to provide resources and a venue for the industry’s finest nature filmmakers.

Growing up I loved these nature documentaries. I still do. But I have to look at them with a grain of salt because, although I know they can't manipulate the bear's actions, they may very well manipulate the story or add a dramatic story where there isn't one. But it's fascinating to see how these movies are made, because you have the wildcard of the bears and of the weather and terrain.

I love the note about the being low to the ground so we can be on the bear's level. While it hints at the inevitable manipulation of material by filmmakers, it's pros might outweigh the cons.
