Consoles are Big News at Prolight+Sound

FOH online: Frankfurt's 2014 Prolight+Sound exhibition drew 897 exhibitors from 42 countries from March 12-15. Combined with Musikmesse, there were a total of 2,242 exhibitors, with 110,000 visitors from 142 countries attending. New product launches tend run in cycles, and right now, live sound consoles are hot, hot, hot. Along with an ample assortment of new sound reinforcement consoles (for any budget), there were plenty of upgrades and updates for existing models.

I love this article because as a sound guy theres nothing I love more than new gear, ESPECIALLY consoles. As a bit of a Soundcraft junkie, I have been following the release of the Soundcraft Vi3000 since it was announced this year and am very excited to see how the console is advanced in its hopefully long years of use. As far as the software is concerned, I hope to see the Vi3000s new and improved software made the new standard for Vi series consoles. The software that they have now is nice but the new software seems like it has some much needed fixes and clean ups that would really advance the Vi Series as a whole.
