Making Mini-Plays in Caryl Churchill’s ‘Love and Information’

NYTimes.com: Chat with the people behind “Love and Information,” the new play by the British playwright Caryl Churchill, and they sound like game geeks, not theater makers.
“It’s a giant Sudoku,” said the director, James Macdonald.
“It’s like furniture Tetris,” said a props master, Matthew Frew.

The only play that I have read by Caryl Churchill is Cloud 9 and to be honest I didn't enjoy it all that much. Love and Information on the other hand looks like I play that I would enjoy a ton. I think that the show concept is great the gives the whole production team an amazing chance to play. I really like the choices that the photos show in this article. It was great to hear about how all the props where conceived and found. I was surprised to see just how often props could be found in simple ways like an eBay search or using one of the production teams real item. I really hope that I can go see this show and maybe one day work on a production of it.

This looks like it could be a really cool concept. I really like the overall image of the set -- the gridded background reminds me of the Matrix a little bit, in the sense that it's an empty space waiting to generate content. Also, it's interesting to have so many apparently unrelated scenes all together, but I'd definitely be curious to see if any of them were somehow connected. If not, I would wonder if the large number of story lines would be in a little confusing, just because of the sheer amount of information that the audience has to take in.
