Quantum Theatre stages 'Madagascar' in former bank lobby

TribLIVE: “Madagascar” is a play shrouded with mystery, literally and figuratively.
Onstage in J.T. Rogers' drama, three people appear alone in the same hotel room in Rome at separate times over a five-year period.
One by one, they share with the audience their remorse and unexplained questions that surround a mysterious disappearance that has shaped each of their lives.

When looking at a set, I always thought it served as the place or setting for the story. However after reading this article, it is clear that the set can also mirror the entire play, it can mirror the chaos, it can mirror the arch of characters, or the arch of a story. And for this story in particular, where the story travels back and forth through time and memory, its crucial to have a constant on stage that will clearly communicate and support the story.
