It's amazing to see some of these booths...they look amazing! I don't know why someone (ie. Philips) would put that much effort into an LDI booth, but I guess why not. Seeing Clay Paky and Philips getting awards is pretty cool having seen some of their stuff in action. I'm still a little confused by the Clay Paky B-Eye, especially not how to pronounce it. It also looks like kind of a silly fixture: it looks like it accentuates a problem with LEDs...blending. I hope I can get to go to LDI in the future and see some of these amazing booths!

I was not aware until now that LDI gives out awards for best booth designs, and best new products presented. I really like that the booths are judged on how effectively they display their products, and not only on how much flash and trash they can cram into their 20’x20’ square. I am a fan of what the clay paky B-eye can do in terms of special effects and rock concert aerials, but (and this is only my personal opinion) I do not see the point of the led matrix on a continuous pan tilt yoke. I guess you could use it for a moving head LED fixture, but then why not just use an LED head, and it doesn’t seem like you could make a very effective LED wall to create larger images out of multiples of them.
