To be honest, I had no idea that there was an entire expo for home entertainment systems, or such a big industry and that many companies devoted to them. I'd be curious to know how large of an audience CEDIA attracts on a typical day. It's pretty fascinating stuff, though. Even though I know next to nothing about it, it would definitely be cool to visit and see what kind of new technologies are starting become more mainstream and that are even to be put into people's houses (and maybe to get some free stuff?).

This article does a good job highlighting things I have noticed myself over the last month. To get people's attention, and to attract them to learn more about your product, freebies work well. The more gimmicks and gifts you can provide, the more attention people will pay to you and your product. Though this is fairly shallow and vain, it is also true and understandable. A clear example was the recent TOC here at CMU. I know some people who brought home whole bags of free swag, promoting companies whom they had known next to nothing about before waiting in line at their booth.
