Attack Theatre's 'Soap Opera' emotionally strong

TribLIVE: Riotous imagination fills Attack Theatre's new show called “Soap Opera,” which was performed for the first time Friday night at the George R. White Studio in Pittsburgh Opera's headquarters in the Strip District.

I am happy to hear that this piece was received well because I am going to there newest show tonight. Attack Theatre is combining with Cello Fury to create a dance piece to renaissance music. The piece sounds gorgeous and I am very excited to see it. I'm not going to lie, I was worried that the performance was going to be lackluster as a result of some of the videos I've seen of it. This article is very reassuring and I'm sure the dancing will mix beautifully with these musical choices.

One of my classmates saw "Soap Opera" last week or the week before and said that they thought it was uninteresting and not a strong piece. I am curious as to why they said this and what they saw that the critic did not.

This piece sounds lovely. The way the story is told entirely through movement is quite intriguing to me. Also, the image attached to the article with the dancers on grass in an interior environment makes the piece seem so freeing. I wish I had the opportunity to have seen. I am curious about the comment Nate left, especially since he saw their most recent piece and he didn't like it. the critic of the article must have seen something since he really loved the piece. I know dance is very subjective so well I have two contrasting opinions of the piece, I would really rather watch the piece then base my judgment on someone else's opinion.

I recently saw a sample of attack theatre for my passport to the arts class and I have to say I was not impressed. The dancing was simple and uninteresting, almost childish. However I believe that particular production was geared slightly more toward children so I would give them another chance. This piece seems like it could be slightly more interesting but it seems that Nate's friend's reaction is exactly what I would expect.
