‘The Old Man and the Old Moon’ at the Gym at Judson

NYTimes.com: “What do you call this kind of theater?” my guest asked, excitedly, after “The Old Man and the Old Moon.” Good question. Though the show bills itself as a “play with music,” you’ll need more words than those to sum it up. For brevity’s sake, let’s just call it a really fine time.

My brother just went on his first date with his first girlfriend to this show! Obviously this is extremely relevant to the blog comment world and everyone is extremely interested in learning this piece of information. But I think that something like that does actually speak to the success of this group, that they can be attracting and entertaining both New York Times theatre critics and sullen 14 year olds with their possibly even more sullen girlfriends. These shows are accessible to nearly everybody, because of that eagerness that is talked about in this article. I'd like to see a more complete review that talks more about how the show adapted to a full length/full theatre situation.

I would love to see a more thorough review that tells more about the performance. I have heard nothing but amazing things about PigPen and I would love to see what critics think about it as well! I cannot wait to see this when I go to NYC. I find it very exciting that this group has been so successful and is now performing in NY! I hope that this group continues to excel!

This looks like such a fun show! I love how Pigpen has creatively used everyday elements to put on their production and I find it interesting how they've made such a fun and childish show seem like it's for everyone. I would love to see this production and see how all of the elements of the play with music are brought together as a whole.
