I wonder how the creation of this new position will actually trickle down to the student body. Vice Provost for Design Arts and Technology. Perhaps this is a step in the right direction for our school which claims to be so heavily interdisciplinary but is actually only making baby steps towards integrating the different colleges. He seems to have a lot of really interesting credits that are extremely relevant to our school in particular, especially the computer music composition and experimental media realms. It would be good to have him give a talk to actually introduce his person rather than this little snippetty bio.

In my position as a BXA Student, I am looking forward to seeing Vice Provost Rikakis's impact on the campus which I hope will be very visible. I am also currently working on scheduling a campus conversation with him regarding interdisciplinary work at an undergraduate level, so if anyone is interested in that please let me know!
