Potty-mouth tour of ‘The Book of Mormon’ heads out

TribLIVE: “The Book of Mormon” arrived on Broadway like a bawdy toddler, cursing and making poo jokes, but winning hearts anyway. Now, it’s ready for a road trip. The nine-time Tony Award-winning musical opens its first national tour in Denver this month after its creators have gently prepared the little sister version to stagger off without them.

The tour of “The Book of Mormon” is a good way to take the crude and dirty humor of successful American comedy writers and spread it around the world. The colossal triumph of the Broadway rendition is characterized by the price of their tickets, and suggests the success of this production in many different countries. The rudimentary comicality of the show may prove to be exceedingly offensive however, as there are many controversial stereotypes within the dialogue. On tour, since they’ve decided to keep the production almost entirely the same as it is on Broadway, the possibilities of people getting riled up is entirely too real. Bringing “The Book of Mormon” to European countries is a great idea to share to content of the piece with people everywhere. However, if you show it to the world, every single person out there can’t be expected to have the same views, and many people may take the jests to heart.
