White Rabbit, Red Rabbit: the play that asks you to leave your phone on

guardian.co.uk: Modern theatre audiences have become accustomed to being told to switch off their mobile phones before the start of a play; but those attending White Rabbit, Red Rabbit – a new work from 29-year-old Iranian writer Nassim Soleimanpour at the Gate theatre in London – are specifically instructed to keep their phones turned on.

I think it is cool to see yet another interesting way the audience can get involved within the shows that they go to. Solemanpour is an inventive playwright, doing some exceptional work outside his country with the given circumstances. I am glad to see that there theater and the audience are becoming more intertwined, and I hope to see more of this in the future.

It's inspiring to hear of how people are constantly innovating the audience's experience in the theatre not only through new technology but in the actual script itself. I hope to see this new form become more popular and experience it myself.

This is such an interesting concept. Not only is it spontaneous, but the audience can interact with the writer. It i sunlike anything I've ever heard of. The fact that it is even possible to have an audience be able to notify the writer about its experience, even when the writer lives in Iran, is amazing. The play itself is on an interesting topic and done in an interesting way, so the method by which it is performed make sit all the more fascinating.
