Technical Director - Orlando Shakespeare Theater, an AEA regional theatre company celebrating its 23rd season is searching for a full time Technical Director.
The Candidate is responsible for running the Scenic, Props and Paint Departments. The Technical Director is responsible for the implementation, supervision and the execution of the Scenic Designs for all productions, including their creation, transportation, installation and removal. The Technical Director supervises a seasonal staff of 7.
Requirements: Minimum BA in Technical Theatre or equivalent experience. 4+ years experience as a Technical Director at the regional theater/university level; Strong knowledge of woodworking; Strong drafting and budgeting skills; Knowledge of metalworking and/or rigging; Knowledge of sewing (hand and machine) a plus; Knowledge of use and safety for standard scene shop equipment; Must be able to lift 50 pounds, and push/pull up to 100 pounds; Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolds, and use a personnel lift when necessary.;
posses a valid US Driver’s License.
