Gallery: Eiko Ishioka’s Costume Sketches

Live Design: Spider-Man costume designer Eiko Ishioka provided us with a sampling of some of her sketches, focusing on the character of Arachne as well as the Sinister Six, the baddies that the Green Goblin conjures up to battle the webslinger.

It's nice to see the renderings from Spiderman look similar but with tweaks that are different from the comic book character. I like it when designers take a new turn with easily recognizable characters but manage to modernize it with tweaks and such. It gives them this nice up-to-date look while still looking like the same character we know and love. I would love to see some pictures of the final product or eventually see the show to see how these garments look and interact with the actors on stage. I'm sure it is quite fascinating.

I like the sketches i think its really cool to see them all side by side. i would be really curious to see how Eiko Ishioka got to these sketches from the source material. there is clearly a lot of influence from the comic books but it would be cool to see how Eiko Ishioka transformed it into the costumes we see here. it would be really cool to see if they changed anything from these sketches to the final product
