I always like to see when giant companies like Rose Brand give back a little, or rather give up some of their hard earned money in order to help the arts grow. Though it may not seem like a lot, every little bit helps, I also like the fact that they will give $2500 to the school. It makes me think that it should hopefully go to a school and student with a program that could really make use of the money. I also think that it is funny, but a really good idea that, under the 'where?' catagory there is an option to "like" them on Facebook in order to get updates. I like and dislike at the same time that the internet and Facebook and such social networking sites are such a huge part of our lives, but they are useful so I guess I'll have to get used to it.

I think this is fantastic, more in that it shows that a theatrical education is becoming more and more of a desired achievement, and the fact that there are companies willing to help people reach that is great. Although Rose Brand's scholarship is not a huge amount, it means something that they have established one in the first place. Scholarships for theatre programs can be a large deciding factor on whether an individual chooses to attend, and by increasing the awareness that these programs exist, we increase the awareness and continued importance of theatre itself.
