Wireless Update: What Does the FCC Decision Mean for Your Church?

Church Production Magazine News: "The ongoing changes regarding wireless frequency availability are complex and, as mentioned in previous articles, for the present time, reflect a constantly shifting landscape. The most recent changes, adopted and released on September 23, 2010 (but not yet published in the Federal Register as of this writing), are detailed in an 88-page Second Memorandum Opinion and Order document. These changes focus on availability of TV channels that wireless systems such as microphone, in-ear monitor, and intercom systems can operate in without interference from Television Bands Devices (TVBDs).

This is great how it seems that you can use some of those mics that where going to be unusable In the United States. I know of many theaters that switched over to the new type of mics as soon as they were released and that they in the future they could not use these types of mics. A lot of them are not for profit small institutions and having to replace all of their mics would be a large part of their budget for that year of for even a few years. It would have been nice if they would have made this type of ruling a long time ago. This would have allowed these institutions could have put their money in another places. There is the argument that there might not be any channels enable in this format in the future. Because of this it may be better off upgrading. I would like to hear more information.
