Globe theatre to show Shakespeare in 38 languages
TheStar.com: "Shakespeare said all the world’s a stage. Next spring, all the world will be on stage at Shakespeare’s Globe theatre. The theatre is planning a six-week run of the bard’s 38 works — to be performed in 38 languages by troupes from around the world.

I am curious of how well Shakespeare translates into other languages. The meter and interpretation of his text is so vivid I believe it would be hard to convey everything in a translation. i.e. the meaning in "To be or not to be..." is so succinct and simple and I just hope it translates. I would like to hear more from a bi-lingual Shakespeare enthusiast on this subject.
To have Shakespeare performed in so many languages really shows the scope of theatre, and how international art can be. I agree with Dale, it would be interesting to know how the translations change or alter the original work. Having taking French for a few years, although not fluent, translations are already tricky enough just for normal conversation. Seeing how different cultures interpret his work would be something to look into as the performances go on.
