I have to confess that I did not know a lot about Philip Chosky. I of course knew that he gave us the money for our beautiful mainstage but that was all I knew. So I looked him up and his philanthropy was astounding. he graduated from Carnegie Tech in 1948, and as soon as he had enough to give back to the community he did. He also just donated a new building to the JCC's Emma Kaufmann's Overnight Camp. It was also really sad to read that he had no children of his own and had suffered from dementia the last few years of his life. I am glad that he is finally at peace and very thankful to him for all that he has given to the theatre community. I am sad at his passing and hope that his family is holding up well.
