Review: 'Glengarry Glen Ross' remains spellbindingly topical

Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "For a 25-year-old play, 'Glengarry Glen Ross' remains distressingly contemporary.
The barebones productions' version of David Mamet's 1984 Pulitzer Prize-winning drama now playing at the New Hazlett Theater feels as immediate as it does unsettling.
There's at least three reasons"

I find re doing plays can be risky, especially when its so apparent when it corresponds to closely to today's issues, without actually being close enough. Too often directors will make it too obvious, and will end up ruining the original intent of the show.
The article seems to have good hopes for the show, however. Perhaps this has been done with enough taste so as not to shove the meaning in the audiences face.

I don't think there's been a single Pittsburgh Tribune review that disliked a play. Its a little suspect, as every review glorifies every show that comes on. Regardless, I am happy to here about a show that is not trying to yell the economy sucks, get over it to everyone. There's nothing wrong with that, but its seems like all anyone is doing is making it relevant by attributing it to the economy, even if the show itself has nothing to do with it.
