Myna Is an Awesome Multi-Track Audio Editor for Anyone

Lifehacker: "Myna, a free online audio tool from the makers of reader favorite image editor Phoenix, lets pretty much anyone jump into recording, arranging, and mixing audio tracks for quickie soundtracks, or just for the fun of it."

As someone interested in sound design, seeing an online application focused towards sound editing is really nice to see. The fact that it's made by the same people who have created a good online image editor is really cool too. This could be really useful if you've transferred files onto a different computer without sound editing software and you can just log on to the computer and then mess with it in this piece of software. It's great that all kinds of good software are coming out online and slowly coming through the cracks, and that they're available for free. That's probably one of the best things

I'm not a sound design major, but I think this tool looks amazing. I'm spoiled by my mac--what with garage band--but my brother has a really old PC. He's a musician, and has no way to record his music. For people like him, this tool looks amazing--low cost, and while not perfect, it works well enough to get by. I've never even heard of a program like this being free before! They really thought about their target audience, and designed something very effective, for the PERFECT price. My brother doesn't have a job right now, and even when he did, he couldn't afford an expensive mixing program or a mac (and before now, they were ALL expensive.)
Kudos to all the people who put the time and effort into creating this!

This is great news. Especially for someone like me who has a mild interest in the workings of sound design but doesn't always have access to the "good" software. Additionally, I could see this is a great resource to anyone needing to do a one-time mixdown of an audio clip or make a small soundscape...freshman would get some use out of it in design! :)

Someone previously mentioned the intrigue of it being online. I could see this as a benefit for the reasons stated, but I wouldn't feel comfortable leaving something to be stored on the internet like that; and, I'm sure that other would-be users have the same opinion.

Still, for the price, you can't beat it.
