Oh my goodness, I saw the title of the article and I thought this cant be true. Bring it on the Musical? I just cant think of how this could legitimately work. If for a minute we ignore the fact that its a huge fluff piece (which can sometimes work out fine), there is nothing really left to contemplate because there is nothing interesting to the plot. Two competitive cheer teams become rivals and respect each other in the end. I just dont think that it is that interesting, the way they might choreograph the stunts could be fun to watch but other than that I cant think of any reason to want to see this show. I was reading the article about 'Law's Hamlet' and Addis' comment about how it is sad that we have really deviated from the Bard and other more classic pieces on Broadway, and this just emphasizes it all the more.

Ok what truly saddens me is the great amount of talent tacked onto this broadway production. Avenue Q and in the Heights are fantastic productions that both brought something new and unexpected to the typical razzle-dazzle production. If I had not known the source material and just seen that the composers and writers were from these two shows I would have been incredibly excited. But Bring it on? It was a crappy movie, why would anyone make it a Broadway musical? Hopefully i can be proven completely wrong and some wonderful satirical and hysterical piece can be created from what is otherwise garbage to begin with.

LIke Sonia and mrstein, I immediately thought how horrible, pointless, and incredibly superficial this show would be. However, with these great people working on it , they MUST have an idea that will make it worth seeing. We have to realize that these people have had success with their shows, they know the business, so going into this project they must have an idea of how to make it interesting to more than american teeny-boppers. It will take a lot of work, but it isn't impossible. I'm interested to read its reviews when it eventually comes out.

this is insteing that they are bring bring it on to the stage as a musical. this movie was not all that grt in my option. but i am glade that they are chaining it from the movie but changing the plot and changing other things about this. also the production team that they have for this show is pretty good and this show should be pretty good but i think that this show will not run for that long but it will probly run for a year or two. so i think that this show will be pretty good just because of there production team that they have.

although im kind of ashamed to say, i would really love to see bring it on the musical, as the article says, the plot isnt going to remain exactly the same as the original although its still pertaining to the world of competitive cheer so i dont really know what to expect except some amazing dance/musical sequences, i wouldnt have expected cheerleading on broadway but i think its really interesting that movies are being made into theatrical productions like legally blonde, and bring it on, i think it definitely has a lot of potential and im excited

I agree with Grace. If they are bringing this show to broadway, they obviously must have some idea for a story that is new and exciting. I unfortunately admit that I love the original "Bring It On" movie, and while some people write it off, it has definitely become a cult movie. I think that the choreography that will come out of this movie could be really interesting.

My initial response to this article was OH MY GOD NO...PLEASE NOT ANOTHER MOVIE MUSICAL!!! However, after reading the article, I am intrigued by it's promise. It seems that they are taking the idea of the movie series and creating a new show out of it. Like a sequel to the movies. Perhaps what most surprised me was the stacked team of director/orchestrator/writers that have been brought together for this production. I am interested to see what the people who created 9 to 5, In the Heights and Next to Normal do with Bring it on.
