Not So Strictly - ‘Ballroom’s Best’ and ‘Burn the Floor’ Aim to Sex Up the Genre

NYTimes.com: "The genre known as ballroom dance has grown unrecognizable in recent decades. When I, as a clumsy youth of 15, and other boys and girls of my age and background learned the waltz and other dances from Murielle Ashcroft and her colleagues in Colchester, England, in 1970, we had no clue that ballroom dance (which in those days seemed quaint) would become exemplified by women wearing elaborate versions of the bikini and men with their shirts open to the navel."
