Company fuses Teenie Harris images with dance in 'One Shot'

Post Gazette: "Charles 'Teenie' Harris continues to inspire 11 years after his death and decades after taking his now-famous photographs of Pittsburgh's African-American community between 1936 and 1975."

I think its very interesting to add movement to a static piece. Even more interesting is that the photographer is dead so there is no asking the original creator of his intentions. All these dances are created purely by 3rd hand perspective. I wonder though if the format adds to or subtracts from the show. Seeing the original photos constricts the usually boundless interpretation of dance performances. However the fact that they are not directly reenacting the reality of the images allows some freedom so perhaps this dows work.
