TOMCAT Holds 2009 Workshops

Lighting&Sound America Online - News: "In February 2009, a team of instructors and about 70 participants from the United States and Canada traveled to Midland, Texas to attend TOMCAT's hoist and truss workshop and rigging and truss workshop. The hoist and yruss workshop featured the disassembly and reassembly of a one-ton Lodestar, as well as a Prostar, with Dave Carmack of Columbus McKinnon."

Sounds like the motor school our upperclassmen went to. Wish I could have attended. The little that we do in Stagecraft in rigging as it pertains to motors is sort of a tease. Its great that all these manufactures are spending so much time and energy on these types of workshops. I think we can safely say its not just about trying to entice younger clients, it really is truly about education, safety, and inspiration. Looking forward to my later years here when I've got the time and the knowledge to attend some of these workshops.
