Carnegie Mellon University: "Instead of grappling with the traditional computer design interfaces, a team at Honda is using a sketching tool developed at Carnegie Mellon to design new cars.
Carnegie Mellon University engineers, led by Levent Burak Kara and Kenji Shimada, have developed software that will let engineers design new products by simply sketching their ideas on a tablet computer."

This is definitely a program that I'd want to try. I find it very frustrating when I know what i want to design but do not know how to communicate that to other people. There already exists drawing programs based on tablet interface but this is the first technical drawing program that I've seen with this interface. I wonder if this program would work for buildings and sets as in the article it focuses more on 3-D product design and less on large intricate structures. Then again if you can design a car with this program I'm sure you can design a set.
This program will benefit us in terms of time very much. It is often as time consuming if not more finding a way to get the idea on paper than the idea itself. With this, a sketch which is a lot easier when simply wanting to check a certain design really quick, will be possible to established if it should be used. Once established, it is then that there should be more time spent on the technical drawing of the design.
