While some of us may not want to hide as much information as this guy suggests, especially as students it seems important to know how to set privacy settings. Facebook is good as a social thing for friends, and also possibly for having a presence in the professional world, but those two should be well separated. A lot of people also use a different name or variation on their name for their online presence.

This is definitely useful information, especially for students who are about to make the transition into the professional world. Facebook is not just for sharing jokes and pictures with friends. Also, more and more parents are getting on Facebook, which is another thing to think about when setting your Facebook privacy settings.
