Two from Warhol Museum appointed to run Three Rivers Arts Festival

PostGazette: "At the moment, at least, there is a commitment to keeping the festival going.
'I don't think the Carnegie Museums would have gotten into this position if they didn't think it was important,' Ms. Criste said."

I'm glad that people have decided to keep the festival going. I don't think they should let the past year determine the fate of the festival. The sooner they can pick up the name, the better. If they continue to get bad reviews than people's interest will continue to drop.

I think it really says something about the workers at the Warhol Museum that they're being chosen to run this festival. I'm also glad that they've decided to keep it going, though. The changes will likely draw a new crowd.

It sounds like everyone involved really wants this project to succeed. its really unfortunate that they're having such budget issues but maybe thats a sign to change other aspects. now that there is new management maybe they should consider making changes as to the venues or kinds of shows being played.

I had a blast at the festival this year, but the one thing every person told me was, "This used to be so much better down at the Point." Now that the renovations are mostly over with at Point State Park and its been tested out, hopefully they will be able to shift the footprint down closer to the water. This will definitely up the maximum capacity and also centralize the festival for a better event.

the arts fest really needs to move to a bigger area, one with less restrictions than in the middle of the gateway center.

the shipping containers were a horribly executed idea and the quality of the artwork was lacking, to say the very least.

then there was that whole cake exhibit... the artist who made those actually expected to sell them to people for >$500? generally, they all looked like something a 5th grader could have done in an arts and crafts class.

overall, i'm disappointed with the AAP. :(
