Stars and Stage Crews Relax and Roll a Few in Broadway Bowling League
NYTimes.com: "It’s opening night, but this cast is not at Lincoln Center. The boys of “South Pacific,” all clad in black T-shirts, are roaring in Lanes 25 and 26. They throw high fives, blow kisses and strike stageworthy poses. One curly haired actor knocks down six pins on his first throw of the frame, warranting a graceful split leap back to the ball return."

"Will bowl for beer" sounds like a team out of PTM. I think its great that performers and crew members both participate. It gives a sense of community, that everyone from all over is a part of a great cause.
I think it sounds fun! Everyone needs to relax after a hard night's work. And this way they can be silly with ALL their fellow actors/crew members, not just the ones on the current show they're working on. I wonder who comes out on top: Crew or Actors.
I agree that "will bowl for beer" seems like something that is pretty prevalent around here, in western PA. Though it is very fun to see that there is a longstanding tradition of recreational bowling within the Broadway community.
The whole bowling sub-culture sounds so interesting with such a non-competitive group of people. It sounds like a great way for people to relax and create bonds outside of work which can be extremely valuable in such a time consuming workplace.
I think this is a great way to build a sense of teamwork and community within a production and within Broadway as a whole. Not only is it a way to have fun and relax together after work, it's also a chance to meet people from other productions and get to know them personally, rather than as "that person in that other show." I feel like this would help people feel like they are all working as a team to produce entertainment for the community.
