Sondheim Flop Survivor Finds Laughs on Road to Musical `Ruin'

Bloomberg.com: Arts and Culture: "``The Road to Ruin'' may sound like a new musical about mortgage banking.
Instead, it's a satire inspired by a 1928 silent movie about an innocent 15-year-old girl corrupted by chewing gum, cigarettes, liquor and betrayal. William Zeffiro's show opened last night as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival, with a casting bonus."

i thought that article was going to be more about merrily we roll along and less about her.
one of my directors in HS wanted to give merrily we roll along a try. he loved the music and depsrately wanted to find a way to make the story make sense. sondheim works so hard making various incarnations of so many of his shows. i wish he would give merrily another go. the music really is too beautiful.
