I am very excited to hear about this production/staged reading that will be occurring here at CMU. I saw a production of "Equus" directed by Scott Schwartz a few years ago and thought it was brilliantly done. I also remember seeing the movie "bubble boy" featuring a young Jake Gyllenhaal. I am however curious to see how this rather over the top goofy humor movie translates into a staged production/reading. Whether Schwartz will be able to turn this into "actual" theatre rather than another money making style disney show, remains to be seen but I'm fairly certain Schwartz would not be involved if it was.

I cannot begin to fathom the variety of work that Stephen Schwartz has created.

Shows about Jesus, immigrants, Charlemagne, The Wicked Witch of the West, and now Bubble Boy!?

I'm very interested to see this (if I can.) I think it'll be very interesting.

Also - how cute! His son is directing it!
