PLASA Puts Sustainability Center Stage
Lighting&Sound America Online - News: "Launched at the end of last year and currently going through a series of pilot trials, BS 8901 specifies the requirements for a sustainable event management system. It encompasses all events, from large-scale tours and unique events such as the 2012 Olympics, to music festivals and amateur sporting events. It will take no prisoners, applying throughout the industry supply chain to venues, organizing companies and industry suppliers and contractors."

Bravo PLASA. Its good to see a major organization/conference taking a focus on sustainability within the industry, and not just individual manufacturers, tours, venues, etc. PLASA is a convention that brings hundreds of manufacturers together from all over the globe -- assuming they are all on board, having them all under one roof, meeting and talking about this issue is bound to have some sort of impact. LDI should take a hint from their script :-)
